Medical Insurance Information
Under the SmartWork Medical Insurance policy, contractors are required to hold their own insurance policy, except where their work is carried out exclusively for the NHS, in which case the NHS indemnity scheme applies to all who provide services to the NHS.
We can confirm that our Medical Malpractice Policy is based on the healthcare professional maintaining their own professional indemnity/medical malpractice insurance. The cover provided under our policy is contingent upon such insurance being in place.
If the individual does not hold their own professional indemnity or medical malpractice insurance, our Medical Malpractice Policy would not respond, and cover would not be available for the role.
Where appropriate individual cover is in place, the policy remains valid, and we can provide confirmation of insurance to the agency upon request.
